Getting the gist of voice search.

    Guide
    by Billy Sunderland Partnership Executive

Web searches from your fingertips are due to be long gone, and instead, voice search is taking over and taking us into a whole new ball game in respect to SEO. Since the revolution of the smartphone, voice technology has skyrocketed and as a digital marketing executive its essential to stay up-to-date with its forever evolving form.

So what’s all the fuss about voice search?

You can’t dismiss the overall concept of it, its fast, easy to use, and it’s on the go. Torquemag has a bunch of information needed to run you up to speed with voice search.

One of the most important things to keep open-minded about is the realisation that people don’t type the same as they speak. So switching to long-tailed keywords might be more of an advantage when it comes to optimising your website. If you are selling vintage clothing, keywords like “clothing” are not groundbreaking, instead use keywords like, “stores selling vintage clothing” and think about how your customers would voice the search.

Voice search is ready to hit the roof and hang around for a long time, and it is really “trendy” amongst the younger generation so knowing your audience is a massive advantage, if you haven’t already, taking a dive into Google Analytics will definitely give you a head start.

There’s still a lot to take in about voice search, so don’t be flabbergasted by it all, it’s going to take a lot of getting used to, and there will be a lot of things you might find that doesn’t work for you but works for others and vice versa.
